Whole New Person
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20
In the very beginning God created mankind to reflect his image of holy love. When this image was marred, God made the way to restore it through selflessly offering his only Son, Jesus Christ and resurrecting him from the dead. Anyone who believes in Christ has died with him to their old identity and has been resurrected with him as a new creation in Christ with a new identity.
Pause and take a moment to reflect. What does it mean to you that your old identity apart from Christ is gone? How does it impact you to know Christ has given you a new identity in him?
Before Christ, we all were dead in sin, now in Christ we who believe are alive in his righteousness.
It is vital to understand that when you believe in Christ you are not merely the same person with a new belief system, you are a completely new person. The old has passed away behold all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Now that you carry the identity of Christ, you are called to walk as he walked. By the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit living within you, you are empowered to shine the light of Christ to a dark and hurting world.
In order to walk as he walked, you have to remain in deep, personal and intimate fellowship with him. We encourage you to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to unleash God’s power and insight into your life. Ask him to help as you study the gospels and look at how Jesus walked and learn from how he responded.
We are praying for you to continue growing deeper in a genuine pursuit of the heart of Jesus, the mind of Christ and a return to the First Love.
